our happy little first home!

The wait is finally over!!! Or maybe it never started for ya. But I've been so stinking antsy to share our new place of living with yall! And by our, I mean mine until Ben moves in next month. But I have people staying with me. Do ya hear that, internet stalkers/killers? DO YA HEAR?! I wish I was sharing a Christmassy house tour, but that will have to wait till next year. :) Well, I wish that I could pull a Ty Pennington and yell "MOVE.THAT.BUS!!!!" But this will have to suffice.Let's begin with a shot the nearlyweds cheesin.

 Now... MOVE. THAT. TRUCK!!!

The "before" shots show the house right before we sealed the deal and moved forward with buying the house, and the "progress" shots show the house as it was the day we moved in, before all of our lovely stuff made its way through the door.

There is so much to be said about the work that has already been done. Mostly new floors, literally every surface being repainted, tons of crazy fixes like rotting floors and adding recessed lights all over the dark rooms and new light fixtures, etc etc etc. Moral of the story is I'm already blown away. You could easily look at this and think that we are skilled at selecting houses to be transformed. NOPE NOTTA TRUE. I had to be talked into this house. People had to tell me they saw potential in this place so that I would see potential in it. And now, I sit in our living room on one of our newly purchased couches (more about that soon!) enjoying an already beautiful home and knowing that we will make this place ours, that we will bring home kids here, that tons of wonderful memories as newlyweds will happen here. I can hardly believe how quickly everything is happening and can't wait to update you all as we move forward with the decorating process!

The Bunting Family

I was so excited to take pictures of the family of my sweet Theta sister, Gaby. Her family's goal was to take a Christmas card photo- and I hope they love these images as much as I do. The Bunting family was absolutley beautiful, taking these photos of them made me so excited for my own family one day.

Mr. and Mrs. Bunting were even so fun as to strike a quick Theta pose (on their own!) :)

Meeting John & Sherry of Young House Love

The first blog I ever started reading was Young House Love. My good friend Katherine introduced me to this lovable couple of DIY masters, and I have been hooked to reading their daily musings for the past three or so years! Yikes. That's a pretty good amount of time. John and Sherry, the masters behind this precious blog, just released their first book and I basically was counting down the days till it's release. The timing of the release was perfect, it came out just a few days after we signed on the house and as soon as we move in I'm going to be using this book to help out with so many different things!

Waiting in line wasn't near as bad as I expected. The anticipation grew and just made me more excited!

John and Sherry were basically all that I dreamed them to be, they were so sweet and extremely chill and it was weird to meet them in real life after literally seeing hundreds of pictures of them on their blog. It was so fun and it was kind of a whirlwind but- moral of the story- they are great. I was so excited to tell them that we just bought our first house and they were so sweet about it. Sherry even encouraged me to submit to "Reader Redesign"!!!!! We signed their book tour guestbook and it became the first time that I ever signed something as "Ben and Victoria Strader". You know, I just figured I should go for it. :)

And look, they're normal. Sherry is drinking juice.
