Three years ago, I was about to graduate high school and was bound for Baylor University in the fall.
sweet Katie before getting her ring!

I was loving that end of senior year, embracing time with all my sweet friends, planning our prom, loving student council & time with my precious youth group. I thought that I had it all figured out.

Sure enough, God had different plans for my college experience, He blessed me abundantly during my time at Baylor and allowed me to learn so much about Him, and be humbled when He chose to use me.

Then came College Station.

This weekend, I got to take part in celebrating the tradition of Aggie Ring Day, & see three sweet friends of mine get their rings! (& celebrate for countless others from afar!) For those of you who don't know, getting your Aggie Ring is a valued tradition at Texas A&M. It marks the completion of 90 hours of classes, & represents a turning point of you joining the Aggie network.

It is a huge blessing to get to celebrate loved ones!

I hadn't really been excited about this Aggie tradition until now. I guess that not spending my freshman year at A&M kind of made me overlook a bunch of the exciting things about being an Aggie. Now I'm beyond pumped to get my ring in September! Eek!

Another wonderful thing that took place this weekend was my sorority's Spring philanthropy event, Theta 5K!

Our sweet chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta raised around $61,000 to benefit our philanthropies, which help local and national programs that help children who have been abused. It was incredible to see and feel the joy in the room when the total amount of money was announced. It made me extremely thankful for the opportunity to be a part of Theta.

All in all, this weekend made me realize how incredible it is to be an Aggie. As anxious as I am to graduate, become a big girl, and teach in my own classroom, I was reminded how lucky I am to be here, & am now inspired to cherish my last semester here! Yippeeeeeeeeee!
