Attention all Dog Lovers!

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Life lately has been a blur of good things. So much to share, coming soon. I cannot believe tomorrow is my last day as an Undergraduate student at Texas A&M. Student teaching, here I come!

One special little thing I want to share for now is... this.

During the past few weeks we have been absolutley showered with love from friends and family. I genuinely can't get over the fact that people want to help us build our home. It's surreal and I am challenged to be as kind and giving as those around me.

What I want to share with you is probably my favorite gift we've received thus far. Ben and I are absolutely smitten with our English bulldog, Matilda. We are excited to have a little family with her cute self.

Ben's brother and sister in law (can't wait to call yall my own!!) are close friends with a Denton area artist, Mandy Cave. They commissioned this perfect watercolor portrait of our sweet pup for us. I am obsessed.

I have never met Mandy, but I have heard of her story. She recently quit her job at Panera Bread to pursue art full time. Let me tell you, this girl is TALENTED. I long for the courage to step out and follow what I believe God is calling me to do, regardless of what the world tells us about comfort through money and our career. I believe Mandy is doing that.

All of that being said, you should check out Mandy's Etsy Shop (click on those words to follow to the link!) and help support her new career path. The website also lists house paintings (how sweet would it be to get your parents a painting of their first house together?) and I have seen her do some incredible recreations of photographs.

Check it out yall! :)

  1. This painting is absolutely adorable...I love it!! I wonder if she would do one of our bird when we aren't strapped for holiday cash?

Congrats on your school wrapping up! Student teaching (and teaching for that matter) can be so exhausting, but fulfilling. Spend time giving love to the students who drive you nuts and you'll find some of your best little friends!
