There is so much to be said about the work that has already been done. Mostly new floors, literally every surface being repainted, tons of crazy fixes like rotting floors and adding recessed lights all over the dark rooms and new light fixtures, etc etc etc. Moral of the story is I'm already blown away. You could easily look at this and think that we are skilled at selecting houses to be transformed. NOPE NOTTA TRUE. I had to be talked into this house. People had to tell me they saw potential in this place so that I would see potential in it. And now, I sit in our living room on one of our newly purchased couches (more about that soon!) enjoying an already beautiful home and knowing that we will make this place ours, that we will bring home kids here, that tons of wonderful memories as newlyweds will happen here. I can hardly believe how quickly everything is happening and can't wait to update you all as we move forward with the decorating process!
I am so happy! It makes my heart fill with joy to see your life unfolding how you always dreamed and you deserve every second of it! I can't wait to be a part of your big day in only EIGHT DAYS!
ReplyDeleteWow!! You need to send this to John and Sherry!! I love it. So exciting!
ReplyDeleteI love how you've lightened everything up, it looks so airy and spacious!! Congrats!

I. LOVE. IT. It is so beautiful with the new hardwood floors and tan colored walls! And those white kitchen cabinets with the few that are open?! It's almost exactly how our kitchen in Denton, TX was! I love ya'lls new house! Keep those pictures comin' :)
ReplyDeleteAND, I love what ya'll did with the mantle/mantel (I never know how to spell it...haha!). It looks 100x better painted white and with the brickwork redone a little. The big, picture window in the family room is also gorgeous!
DeleteWow!!! Such a huge difference! Love the new renovations!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove what you guys have done so far! Can't wait to watch the work and progress continue!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is such a HUGE difference. It doesn't even look like the same place!
ReplyDeleteHow much do I love your sweet home?! I can almost smell the Anthro candles coming from here :) Love love love it sweetness!
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a BEAUTIFUL transition! I absolutely love your sweet home! I am also a newlywed to my husband, Sean, and we are in the same situation as you were before. We are currently renting, about to purchase, our home and it is extremely outdated. We will have to lay down new floors, paint, new faucets, etc, etc. I am glad I ran across your blog because now... I am pretty inspired of how beautiful it can become :) I am new to the blogging world and I would love for you to follow me over at http://sincerelymrslo.blogspot.com/ I am still a work in progress but we all start somewhere :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I don't like to use the word "miracle" lightly and not to be rude to the way the house looked before but WOW I cannot believe my house that this is the same place. I mean how you turned that into a home is so remarkable and fixed it up! I always thought buying a new house that was just built is always the way to go no matter what. This is something to consider before I purchase my first home. Just incredible.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! We bought our first home last year...we live in the Houston area and we have (slowly) been renovating it, as well. It's been a journey but I've been loving it. We have a toddler that makes it hard though. Your pictures are giving me hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
