Last week I decided that I couldn't fight the feeling anymore. We needed a Christmas tree. No but really, I'm crazy and had this reoccurring thought nightmare where all the stores ran out of Christmas trees. Last week Hobby Lobby had them on special, and my husband is a gracious man. So off to Hob Lob we went this past Saturday.
I was surprised by how long we ended up looking at the trees. There were so many different options. Also, let's be real and say that so many of them cost ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Husband, who decided to wear flip flops on the first actual cold day of fall in Texas for our festive outing, had a small heart attack. We decided that it was worth getting a nice tree that we could take of for years and years and really get to enjoy. I didn't want one with weird, scratchy needles. He wanted one that was pre-lit. Our house couldn't accommodate a 10 foot tree. Those were our only guidelines.
We finally settled on this little baby. I was thrilled! I also turned over the price tag because this photo was taken with the intention of a blog post and I thought the price was tacky and ruined the Christmas spirit.
Nope, the tree isn't up in our house right now. I wish. This outing really did turn me into a happy Christmas elf but I know it will be worth the wait if we wait until after Thanksgiving or at least really close to after Thanksgiving. I want to be listening to Christmas music when we put it up, and smelling something holly jolly, and wearing a sweater. YAY! Our first married Christmas is going to be SO wonderful! Other plans involve: hosting a Christmas dinner for one chunk of the family, homemade Christmas gifts with another chunk, and going to see a live performance of White Christmas in Dallas!
Anyone else prepping for Christmas? Excited for Christmas? Thinking I'm crazy? :)
