Our Fourth Day

These happy photos were taken on our first, happy day of snow. We were joyful and merry. Today is Sunday night, and we have been stuck since Thursday early evening. WHAT? Yes. TOMORROW IS OUR FOURTH DAY... TOTALLY TRAPPED. Even though we live in Texas, somehow we ended ip in a situation where there is enough ice to keep us stuck. Ben's had TWO days off work (Friday, and we just got word he'll be home tomorrow!) and I'm hopeful that the ice will melt enough tomorrow that we can get out to see the Disney movie, Frozen. Ironic, yes. :)

What have we been doing to stay occupied? Friday was all happy and we took photos, ate chili, went to Ben's parents house and watched HGTV.. not bad. Totally great actually. But Saturday morning.. waking up with the prospect of being in your house for three more days really put a damper on my attitude. I genuinely can't even tell you about that day... soooo long. Oh yeah! I moved all of our bedroom furniture to clean behind it. JOYOUS, I know! Today I just decided to embrace it... I cleaned a bunch, and then rewarded myself with watching The Holiday and a long winter's nap. First thing, we went to the donut shop a few blocks over and literally people were sliding everywhere in their cars and on their feet. It's been totally crazy and Ben's dad says it's the worst he's ever seen it.

Does anyone have any suggestions of activities that can keep us going? Even as I type.. I feel like my mind is mush and that I have no good words to say. Dramatic? Yes.

Ps. Please go check out my good friend Kimber's new etsy shop! This shop has been a long time coming for her.. and she is incredibly talented! I'd love to see some of y'all ordering from her shop! XO

  1. Some of my favorite snow day activities are: puzzles, baking cookies, cleaning (although you already did that!) & browsing hulu/netflix :) Sometimes my bf & I watch stand up comedy on Netflix to pass the time and get in a couple of laughs. I hope y'all can find some fun stuff to do -- but I hope even more that the ice melts so you can see Frozen! That movie looks too cute!

  2. I made everyone in the house paint - Andres and Quirt painted a picture together and so did Hope and Sabrina. I made and decorated cookies with Kymee and Eli. I started cleaning and organizing my bedroom. I took extra naps. I cooked more than usual. We played games, read, watched football and movies. We even had a family worship service. I've had a great time. I know others in the house are stir crazy, but it is exactly what I needed. Oh coarse, we have had an average of 12 people at the house - so to be honest, I'd kind of like a little peace and quiet now.
