Friday No. 36

Friday, June 17, 2016

It's been awhile since my last Friday post.. life with Beau has kept me from them, and I'm excited to get back in the groove of things!

No. 1

Speaking of time flying.. I feel like my perception of time is WAY off lately. Beau is growing like a weed which is so bittersweet. The photo above REALLY showed how much he has changed since he was born. I could almost start to imagine what he's going to look like as a little boy. The resemblance between Beau and Ben is absolutely crazy at times. I cannot believe we have a 5 week old but it also feels like I've never not known Beau.

I'm such a sucker for a good organization project. When we redid our bathroom about a year and a half ago, I just plain forgot to ask about getting a shelf for shampoo and whatnot built in. I realized it as soon as the tile was done and it was too late, sigh. Silly, I know. I won't make that mistake twice. :) But anyway, our shower head is up pretty high and won't work with most shower caddies. I found this one at the Container Store finally, after trying so many! The shape, combined with the really great quality OXO gripping system made this the perfect fit for our shower. I can't tell you how luxurious it feels to have this problem taken care of, and no bottles collecting grime on the corners of our tub. YAY! There is no greater feeling than solving an organizational problem.

Postpartum life has lead to a lot of window shopping for me.. I've fallen in LOVE with this dress, this dress, & this dress!

My sweet, snuggly boy! At five weeks old he's honestly almost due for another haircut. It's so crazy! Is he going to need a monthly trim his whole life? Ben and some of our friends suggested we let it grow and do something silly with it like a man bun or a mullet and go viral on the internet but mama is NOT feeling that. :)

This week, Ben and I left Beau for the first time since he has been home from the hospital. He was perfectly fine with his Granny and Pops.. but it was so hard leaving. I just kept thinking "people don't even know we have a baby!!" which is so silly! :) We just went and got shakes at Chick Fil A, which actually lead to me deciding I should probably not eat any kind of ice cream anymore.. it just always hurts my tummy! So we'll see how that goes!

  2. I felt the EXACT same way the first time we left Greer, "But no one in Target knows we just had a baby!" We were out for 45 minutes, but it felt like an eternity. We returned home to a sleeping baby who never knew we had even left in the first place! #firsttimemom

  3. Chick fil a shakes are one of my favorites! Such a bummer they don't make you feel good. :(

  4. That hair! What a sweet boy. ;-) Isn't it such a great feeling when you find the exact product? It can be really difficult finding the right fit.

  6. First of all, goodness gracious his hair! This girl-mama is slightly jealous because we're still working on enough hair for full pigtails and pony tails in our home. ;)

And in terms of the ice cream, I feel ya! Sophia had a dairy allergy so for 15 months I was dairy free. I'm doing little bits of real cheese again, simply because my lactose and casein free cheese is SO expensive, but I can't handle much dairy anymore. I'm amazed how much better I feel without it!

    xoxo
