It's 7:15am Monday morning and for the first time in almost a month I'm hopping on here. Wow. Totally did not intend to take a break. I've heard from a lot of you sweet people and every time I responded to someone I had completely true intentions on when I said I planned on being back. The first week and a half I had a really bad cold. I don't know about you but colds just hit me really hard and also taking care of a busy toddler.. survival mode stage one. Then the second I started to feel a bit better Beau got croup for the first time. So, survival mode while sitting next to the steam of the shower. Then as soon as that passed, we literally got to attend bible study one time (showing how much one or both of us couldn't expose our germs to people!) and Beau brought home a stomach bug. Since last week he's been iffy and Friday afternoon started the worst I've ever felt in my life. Praise the Lord mine lasted a lot less time than my sweet baby's, but it came on a TON stronger. Like, I was sick every 15 minutes or so. I will try to keep this classy but I literally burst a blood vessel in my eye.
So needless to say, September did not treat us the best. I don't remember a single goal I had last month and to be honest I don't want to look them up and remind myself, haha. I struggled a ton last month because I just have always felt at any moment like I'm inadequate. We've received so much help and my husband gets a medal but it's hard looking back and knowing that for an entire month we did nothing but sit on our couch. I know that there is nothing better I could do than take care of my baby.. but I did not keep all the plates spinning this month and that was really hard. I told Ben last night that I'm determined to get things back on track because in my world, the holidays are here. October is my absolute favorite month and also brings a really busy few weeks for our family and I want to plan well and bring balance. I really want to plan ahead in order to allow us to really and truly enjoy our favorite three months of the year. Which brings us to, my goals for the month. :)
October Goals
- host my dear friend Nicole, well, and enjoy a quick Magnolia getaway with her
- take our Fall family photos with Nicole while she's here (very unlike me but I'm scrambling to put our outfits together this week!)
- Help serve my sweet friend Michaela at Bloom Workshop
- Return one of the sizes I ordered of Beau's precious Halloween costume, and get him a treat bag
- Purchase at least half of our Christmas presents
- think over and order any new Christmas decor
- blog regularly- this never has to be a goal for me but after this past month, here we are!
- use a face mask twice a week
- clean out Beau's clothes and closet for fall and put all his old things in tubs
- get back on track with cooking (we've eaten an embarrassing amount of take out!!)
What do y'all have planned for this month? A huge thank you for those who still care after this hiatus!
Yay! I'm so happy to see that you're back and that you're all feeling better! I hope October redeems itself for you as a better month than September -- you guys got hit hard!

ReplyDeleteI am so, so glad to see you back & so sorry that you and Beau were feeling so terrible-sometimes it's best just to step back and take care of yourself and your family and not worry about all the little things, they'll still be there when you feel better :) I've got plans this month to get our basement painted & to get more Christmas gifts purchased!
