My Take on the Most Talked About Baby Product

Monday, June 4, 2018

The Dock-A-Tot is ALLLLL over social media. Everyone lists it as a must have product and I'll be honest with y'all, I was skeptical. I think I've even said that before and asked for thoughts. But now almost 6 weeks into being a mama of two (someone hold me, I'm SO sad this time has gone so fast!) I feel like I can weigh in on the topic.

My favorite thing about the Dock-A-Tot is how versatile it is. It’s awesome for if you want to take a shower and be able to keep an eye on baby, I’d just set it right outside the glass shower door with Sophie hanging out in it comfortably. I can pop it down beside Beau and I if I’m helping him play with a puzzle or something else to work on his fine motor skills. Sister could be right there beside us napping or whatever and it’s just nice to know that she’s cozy and contained. It’s also perfect for times that I’ve wanted to sit on the couch and have her close but need a break from holding her so I’ve set it on the other side of the sectional with her in it. It’s designed with co-sleeping in mind but we aren’t a co-sleeping family. However, there have been times I’ve used it for I guess what we could maybe call “co-napping” during the day. I’m a schedule gal for my babies and Beau and Sophie both go down for a nap at 1pm each day. I love this so much because it gives me the freedom to either spend that time holding Sophie for her nap and snuggling without big brother being extra busy, or I can put her down in her crib or somewhere else and get stuff done or read myself. For times that I want to nap but also feel like I’m getting some one on one time with Sophie, I’ll put her in the Dock-A-Tot beside me. This sounds silly too, but I also love that it can serve as a fun and neutral (or, depending on your preference, not neutral) background for photos. It’s easy and nice because they’re contained and happy from the cuddly sides up by them. And biggest thing is just that it’s portable. Because Beau will still go down for bed in his pack and play, if we go to a friends house or something he can go in that and Sophie can sleep in the dock. Love it.

Do you have a Dock-A-Tot/ thoughts on it? It’s been so interesting to me how talked about this product is!

Thank you to Dock-A-Tot for providing me with our dock! As always, all opinions are my own. :)

  1. I'm so glad to hear that you're loving it! We've already ordered one for baby and I can't wait to try it out.

  2. My best friend recommended getting a Dock-A-Tot so it's on our must-have list for baby number one coming in September, we'll see if he loves it as much as my friend's little girl does! I would love to hear more about your routines with both little ones, how you plan their sleeping/where do they sleep, etc. This new mama-to-be is so nervous about all of those things and we don't want to do co-sleeping at our house either if we can help it!
