Thanksgiving Week Sales

Wednesday, November 21, 2018

I was chatting with a few friends about the things that I love that are on sale this week, so I thought I would just put this up here to share with y'all! :) Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! XO
  • One of my absolute favorite sources for occasion dresses, Rachel Parcell, has a ton of markdowns.
  • I was recently thinking about what I think are two retailers that you could get ANYONE a gift card too and they could find something great. Weird thing to think about but I was, haha! I decided on Nordstrom and J.Crew. Nordstrom is obviously a bigger umbrella than J.Crew but it's such a classic place with pieces that can work for anyone of any age. I imagine when I'm a grandma I'll be popping in for a sweater, haha! I ordered the plaid dress for Christmas Eve church, but here are another few things that caught my eye.
  • I know everyone you've ever met in your life is probably trying to get you to buy Beautycounter this time of year.. but I've really loved the products that I've tried. All of the skincare stuff below is stuff I have owned for awhile and loved. The oil and resurfacing peel might be my top recommendations. I use the oil alone right onto my face before bed, or mixed in with moisturizer. The peel makes my skin literally look better over night like magic. I was skeptical but love it. If I'm wearing lipstick, it's the sheer in either "rose" or "petal".. that about covers it! Haha!
  • The Beaufort Bonnet Company's 40% off doesn't start until Thursday night.. but below are a few favorites from them!
  • Draper James is all 25% off.. I'm sending Ben several links with Christmas in mind, haha! Mainly this and this.. and I would love to get this for a holiday party!
  • Tuckernuck is one of my favorite places to shop.. the only downside is that you'll be browsing through the $60 items and all of a sudden be hit with one thats like $400 or $900 and it doesn't really make sense what you're doing on the site. It's okay though, power through, haha!
  • Madewell has really caught my eye a ton lately.. they have 25% off!

Life Lately + Favorites

Monday, November 12, 2018

Hi! Happy Monday! I thought I would post a quick roundup of some things that have caught my eye recently, as well as a few things we've been up to. I've been trying to knock out everything for Thanksgiving and Christmas.. ordering a few staple pieces that I can have to easily wear for holiday gatherings and tons of gifts too.. I'll share all of my gift ideas soon but here are some other things that have caught my eye!

I'm SO excited to mail our Christmas cards with our family photos this year. We went to Nashville for a quick trip so my friend Meredith could take our pics.. that sounds nuts I know! But it was so fun and so worth it to get to spend time with friends and to have our photos in an environment that was REAL fall! The leaves were amazing! My dress can be found here if you're interested! :)

Sophie Charlotte: 6 Months

Sunday, November 11, 2018

6 Months as of 10/27/18

Weight: 15lb 13.5oz
Height: 26.6 in

Clothes: Some of her 3-6 month clothing is starting to be retired! She took a long time to outgrow all of her 0-3, but then I feel like has flown through her 3-6. However, a lot of 6-12 items still seem rather giant!

Sleep: Sophie is just going to be one of those babies that loves to sleep! But I'm realizing she loves her crib which is kind of heartbreaking because I just want her to sleep in my arms sometimes. I'm writing this post about a week and a half late and on our trip to Nashville she wouldn't go to sleep because of us being up hanging out with Collin, our girl had a major fear of missing out. It was getting later and later and she was just wanting to sit up with us and be held. She didn't make a peep or act tired, but she must have been! Crazy girl!

Schedule: We switched her to a new schedule and it's been working well for us! One less time each day to nurse and incorporating purees! Nap at 9 and 1 and a catnap at 5.

Health: Still no sickness for our girl, praise the Lord!

Crying: I never really know what to put in this spot. Like, yes she's a baby! She sometimes cries! The end! Haha!

Likes: Interacting with her big brother, singing, bouncing

Dislikes: Being really hungry before bedtime!

Milestones: Sitting up like a big girl now, and really using rolling as more of a mode of transportation, haha! She's starting to really push herself up more on her arms and I think before we know it we'll see her in crawling position. I kind of can't wrap my head around what it's going to be like with two tiny people on the move in our house! We also tried her first food, avocado. Sophie's not really loving purees so far but we're keeping on.

Special Moments: First trip to the pumpkin patch, first mother daughter brunch, lots of sweet time with friends and family!

Sophie Charlotte: 5 Months

5 Months as of 9/27/18

Late posting this.. I wrote it almost two months ago.. but for my own records I really want to keep up with monthly posts, so here we go! :)

Weight: didn't weigh her this month!
Height: didn't measure her this month!

Clothes: Sophie took a little bit to be out of her 3 month outfits. I'm so sad to see a lot of them go! She's wearing 3-6 months, or 6 months now. We also switched over a lot of her clothes just because of the change of season. It's still been warm in Texas though, so a few things have hung around longer than originally thought.

Sleep: This is the most boring category, as it's been the same since about two months, haha! She is still sleeping incredibly well. She has a bottle with her daddy at 7pm every night, and goes to bed right after. She wakes around 7 each morning. I really expected her to have hiccups with her napping at around 4 months like Beau did, but over the past month she's shown no signs. There was one isolated day where she had a hard time napping in the morning, but that's it. Sometimes when we're on the go she won't nap well in the morning, just for little bits in her carseat, but then she will nap excellently in the afternoon.

Schedule: Same as last month!

Health: Nothing to report.. and no news is good news! :)

Crying: Sometimes at 6:30pm the hunger just strikes our girl so hard that she looses it haha!

Likes: her teethers and small stuffed animals have gotten so much love this month!

Dislikes: It seems crazy but our girl is just so easy breezy, not much to report here!

Milestones: Working on sitting up like a big girl, blabbering like crazy!

Special Moments: Her first family trip to Boston and Nantucket, first airplane ride, first ferry ride, first baseball game! Her baby dedication with our home group. Her first Matilda Jane trunk show.
